Taiping Houkui Tea, also known as Monkey King Tea, is a prestigious green tea variety originating from the Huangshan District of Huangshan City in Anhui Province, China.
Origin and Cultivation
Geographical Location: Taiping Houkui Tea is primarily cultivated in the mountainous regions of Huangshan District, specifically in areas like Xinming, Sankou, Longmen, and Shahe, at altitudes ranging from 700 to 800 meters.
Unique Environment: The area boasts a unique natural environment, characterized by its high altitude, cool climate, abundant sunlight, and fertile soil, which collectively contribute to the exceptional quality of Taiping Houkui Tea.
Characteristics
Appearance: The leaves of Taiping Houkui Tea are flat and slightly curved, sometimes rolling into a cylindrical shape. They exhibit a dark green color with sparse downy hairs and occasional white buds.
Tea Infusion: When brewed, the tea liquor presents a bright yellow-green hue, clear and transparent. The aroma is high and lasting, fresh and fragrant, often described as having floral and fruity notes.
Taste: Taiping Houkui Tea boasts a refreshing and mellow taste, with a subtle sweetness that is not overly cloying but rather naturally refreshing. The aftertaste is long-lasting, leaving a refreshing sensation in the throat.

Brewing Steps:
Warm the Teacup: Rinse the teacup with hot water before brewing.
Add Tea and Swish: Place 3-5 grams of tea leaves into the cup and pour in one-third of the boiling water. Swish the tea leaves to release their aroma.
Fill and Brew: Pour in the remaining water and let the tea steep for about 25 seconds before drinking.
Refill: Leave one-third of the tea in the cup when refilling for subsequent infusions.
