Chinese Wu Yi Rou Gui Tea (Charcoal Roasted)

Wuyi Shan RouGui Tea, also known as Cinnamon Tea, is a distinguished type of Oolong Tea sourced from the Wuyi Mountains in Nanping City, Fujian Province, China.

Origin and Production Area
Origin: Wuyi Shan RouGui Tea originated in the Tang Dynasty and has a long history of being cultivated and enjoyed.
Production Area: It is primarily produced in the three pits and two gullies of the Wuyi Mountain region, known for its unique terroir and ideal climate for tea growth.
Production Process
The production of Wuyi Shan RouGui Tea involves several intricate steps, including:

Withering: Fresh tea leaves are evenly spread out and withered until their surfaces lose gloss, become soft, and their weight decreases by 8% to 12%.
Shaking and Cooling: A crucial step in determining the quality of the tea. The leaves are shaken multiple times (5 to 8) and cooled in between, with the duration and frequency of shaking gradually increasing. This process helps develop the tea's aroma and flavor.
Fixing and Rolling: After shaking and cooling, the leaves are fixed at a high temperature (around 250°C) to stop further enzymatic activity and then rolled into strips.
Drying and Picking: The tea is dried in several stages, including initial drying (hairy fire), picking out stems and impurities, and final drying (sufficient fire).
Additional Firing (Refining Fire): Depending on consumer preferences, the tea may undergo one or two additional firing processes to enhance its aroma and reduce moisture content.
Characteristics
Wuyi Shan RouGui Tea is renowned for its unique characteristics:

Appearance: The dried tea leaves are tightly rolled, with a golden or brownish color.
Aroma: It has a strong, lasting aroma reminiscent of cinnamon, with additional notes of cream, flowers, and fruits.
Taste: The tea liquor is orange-yellow and clear, with a mellow, sweet, and refreshing taste. It leaves a lingering aftertaste in the mouth.
Leaf Bottom: The leaf bottom is even, bright, and soft, with a red border around the edges.
Health Benefits
In addition to its delightful taste, Wuyi Shan RouGui Tea is also believed to have various health benefits, including:

Lowering blood sugar and lipids
Having antibacterial properties
Possessing anticancer, antiradiation, and anti-aging effects
