Dwtea Rizhao Green Tea - Chinese geographical indication products

Rizhao Green Tea is a type of Chinese tea that is grown and produced in the city of Rizhao, located in the Shandong province of China.

Origin and Environment
Rizhao Green Tea originates from Rizhao, a city in the southeastern part of Shandong Province, China, which embraces the Yellow Sea.
This region is renowned for its ideal climate and fertile soil, perfect for cultivating high-quality tea plants. The temperate monsoon climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, and large diurnal temperature variation create an optimal environment for tea growth.
Characteristics
Rizhao Green Tea is well-known for its delicate flavor, refreshing aroma, and vibrant green color.
The tea leaves are thick, and the tea stalks are coarse. The processed dry tea has a coarse appearance, and the tea leaves at the bottom are flexible.
It is characterized by its high aroma, strong taste, thick leaves, resistance to brewing, yellow-green liquor, and rich chestnut aroma. It is also known as "coastal green tea," the only "coastal green tea" in China.
Varieties and Aroma
One of the most popular varieties of Rizhao Green Tea is Longjing Tea, also known as Dragon Well Tea, which has a smooth and mellow taste with a hint of chestnut flavor.
Other notable aromas include bean aroma (more intense and stimulating to the sense of smell), fruit aroma (a faint fruit fragrance emitted by high-quality tea, soft and refreshing), orchid aroma (elegant and unassuming, the top-grade fragrance of green tea), and tender aroma (more obvious in tender leaves).
Cultural Significance
Tea has been an integral part of Chinese culture for centuries, symbolizing hospitality, friendship, and harmony. Drinking tea together is a social activity that brings people closer and fosters connections.
Rizhao Green Tea is not just a beverage but also a symbol of tradition, craftsmanship, and community. Its exquisite flavor and cultural importance make it a beloved and cherished part of Chinese tea culture.

Recognition and Honors
Rizhao is known as the "Hometown of Green Tea in North China," with large-scale planting of over 20,000 hectares of green tea, modern management, standardized production, and industrial operation.
Rizhao Green Tea has been listed as one of the geographical indication products of China by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
In 2020, the European Commission included Rizhao Green Tea in the second batch of 175 Chinese geographical indication products.
